OUR HOPE!

In the days of a not too distant past, before there was an internet that allowed immediate exchange of information, I remember a world where the transgender patient stood alone at the very bottom of the medical community. It was a time when there were no specialty services for the T person. Doctors were very reluctant to administer hormones, perform effective feminization surgeries, few even considered performing SRS, psychologists knew far less than their own patients about the transgender issue. Silly stereotypes abounded and bound the lives of many. In sharp contrast... - It was our hope to create an environment where respect was the norm. - It was our hope to create an environment where any person who came seeking help could rest assured that they were not only taken seriously, but appreciated as well. - It was our hope to create the best facility possible, bringing you the best technology and skill possible, and to deliver it through people who truly care. I remember one day my grandmother, who was 81 years old, said that when she looked in the mirror, she saw someone very different than who she felt she was inside. She went on to say that she felt inside that she was the same 18 year old as always, and that she wished people could still see that and treat her accordingly, instead of just seeing the outside. From that day on, I treated her as if she was 18, and she blossomed around me. We see the same thing here with T folks. We see the inside!
